Brochure Assignment

Up

Create a brochure for a company or product of your choice. I recommend that you use Microsoft Publisher for this assignment, although you may use a different software package, if you wish.

Brochures are another means used by companies to communicate information about products or services. Although the primary effect of brochures is cognitive (involving thinking), the emotional aspect should not be ignored. The "feel" projected with your brochure should be concordant with that projected by your company.

Your brochure should be based on the following:

1. Information about your target market: gender, age, education, income, lifestyle, attitudes, etc.

2. Company’s or product’s positioning as compared to competitors (the positioning should be reflected both in the content and the image projected through the brochure).

3. The primary benefit(s) that will be communicated through the brochure.

4. Creative strategy for communicating these benefits to the consumer (appeal to their sense of ... or desire for ...).

5 Information on where the product or service is available.

6 Hours of operation.

7 Contact person.

Submit your brochure as well as two page paper addressing points 1 through 7 on the dates indicated by the syllabus.

You will be evaluated on:

a. Extent to which your brochure is able to communicate the required information.

b. Ability to attract the reader’s attention.

c. Ability to generate interest in the product or service described.

d. A broad measure of attractiveness for the brochure.

Each student must submit an individual brochure.

Maximum number of points possible: 100
