2010 E-Team Stairclimb 6-Year old climbs all 56! Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Stairclimb! We are most pleased to announce that little Emma indeed climbed for the first time to the top of downtown's 1201-3rd Tower hardly missing a beat in the 22nd Annual CFF Stairclimb on Dec. 2nd. Stopping only briefly for water, she ascended with aplomb and was the first female child to reach the top, doing so in 16:50, far less than our projected time. Hardly worse for wear, she polished off a plate of pasta afterwards with little fanfare and was admittedly more pleased to have made off with a balloon than anything. What a trooper. It was a terrific event and a real achievement for Emma, but a glowing testament as to how much the CF Foundation is helping. Their tireless efforts are not just "adding tomorrows" but real quality of life to those afflicted with Cystic Fibrosis, quality that allows them to produce such feats as Emma's stairclimb. Her current health is a direct reflection of all the amazing strides made over the last 30 years funded by the CF Foundation and the outlook for the next 20 is extraordinary given the CF cure that is very close. This year's Stairclimb was another record breaker with over $176,000 raised by the 550 climbers. We are then deeply grateful for all those special people who made the E-Team's effort so fruitful, we sit currently in a strong 2nd among individuals and 8th among 56 teams in funds raised. Both these standings will improve significantly with the not yet reflected $2000 pledge of McMurry Inc. via Pat Kehoe! This should move the team rank to 5th E-Team solidly back where it belongs! Thanks to McMurry and thanks again to you all who have made this possible. We are truly blessed to have all of you

The news from the frontlines remains incredible right now even from last year's amazing announcements of actual cure breakthroughs in the research. With the magnanimous help of the CF Foundation resources, researchers are closing fast on an actual reversal of the gene mutation that causes the destructive affects of the disease and drug trials are continuing to incorporate the new advancements and discoveries. I had the privilege recently of listening to a CF patient currently participating in one of these drug trials report of unprecedented and dramatic health improvements, they were nothing short of miraculous. We're very excited for this great work and the promising picture that lies ahead as Emma and other CF patients strive for healthy lives With your help and commitment, we can surmount this disease with some steps up. We would love you to help in one of the several ways available, but sponsoring our E-Team climb effort is the quickest and is wonderfully immediate. An amazing ninety cents of every dollar raised by the CF Foundation goes straight to research so you know your getting the best bang for the buck. You can also form an adjunct team and meet the challenge head on! Either way you can do it all right here at the 2010 official climb website. 2010: Papa-Sherpa not required!

The E-Team will also be in action at the annual Seattle Great Strides walk in May 2010 and will be looking for sponsors and new teams for that effort as well. This is a four-mile walk through downtown Seattle and is the Washington CFF Chapter's second largest annual effort to raising funds for the purpose of finding cures and developing treatments for Cystic Fibrosis.
