Museum Assignment
Museum Essay Due, April 18th—
Each student is responsible for visiting an actual museum in the Seattle area. Below is a listing of local museums that I recommend. I would suggest before going to the museum develop a questionaire that asks
How does the museum convey information? How do they use walkways and transitional spaces to help me move through information? How do they have me interact with information? Can I personally relate to the information? If so how did they achieve that? How is the signage handled in the museum? Was I able to find my way through the museum? What aspects did I like and dislike about the museum? If I were an exhibit designer, what would I do the same and or different to help someone make sense of the information.
Please write your review in an essay format (do not simply respond to a bullet of questions). Your writing must be proofed, have specific goals, and be executed in a way that effectively communicates your observations.
Advice: Have a well written introduction, a thesis statement, have intro sentences in each paragraph that support your statement and have a strong conclusion.
