Web Story

Objective:

To gain a basic understanding of content development, story telling, way finding, file preparation, file organization and coding for the web.

Process:

1. Using a classic short stories found on //www.classicreader.com/browse/6/develop content for your site that delivers the overall message of the story. It is not required to use the original text of the story in its linear progression. Site should address sequencing and meaning through altered way finding. Also consider additional information that can enhance the message.
2. Site must have a minimum of five pages and links throughout.
3. Create a paper story board and flow chart (site map).
4. Prepare images to use for the site.
5. Organize files and folders for the site.
6. Implement content (images and copy) into Dreamweaver
7. Post site on server!

Monday, 4/12
—Choose story //members.lycos.co.uk/shortstories/
—Map out story board

Wednesday, 4/14
—Have site structure laid out (bring site map)
—Static Sketches for Web Story Due (should be done on the computer)

Monday, 4/19
—Bring files (photoshop or illustrator) for in class-work session

Wednesday, 4/21
—Posted to webspace, final Web Story
