Non Profit Website Overview

Objective:

To gain a better understanding of how interactive media can inform and educate the user. To help the student learn and obtain more knowledge related to user and multi media experiences. To provide the student with skillsets of development processes and methods for website construction to include: content building, image creation, organization and user interaction.

Project Description:

The student will develop a site that evaluates and effectively presents a non-profit instituion online. The assignment will include an interview with a chosen non-profitl organization assessing their overall mission and charitable work. Students will take feedback from their user to develop a content based information tool as it relates to their non-profit.

Process:

1. Student interviews a non-profit institution.
2. Write design brief
3. Create site-map that organizes content into an effective framework which supports the project goals and objectives. Address which parts of the content should be static, animated, and user-interactive.
4. Create navigation, menus, or other wayfinding devices.
5. Make sketches of homepage and sub-pages
6. Develop style guides that represent processes of wayfinding, grids, color and font selections, page layouts and image usage
7. Make adjustments according to user-response.
8. Publish final project.
