Presentation 2.1

Home Schedule Policies Resources Design Notebooks

Basics

Presenters - Two people will present. Those who do not present in the quarter's first presentation will present in the second one.

Time - Each team should take around 12 minutes to present. There is a firm maximum of 15 minutes. This should be equally divided amongst the two people presenting.

Appearance -  Please dress in a way that presents a professional image. It is not necessary to "dress up" (ties/suits/dresses are not necessary), but avoid looking sloppy.

Topics to cover (All are mandatory. Graded as a team)

  1. Status - Explain where you are in the design process. What major breakthroughs occurred? What things fell apart? What's ahead/on/behind schedule? Are there any looming risks ahead?

  2. Device Drivers - Describe the software interface to each hardware component (device drivers). Highlight major routines and data structures used.

  3. Power Supply - Describe the characteristics of your power supply. You should present results for efficiency, voltage out, and noise. If you have multiple output voltages, describe each one

  4. Prototype Board - Give a tour of your prototype board. Show how each subsystem is designed on your board. You may use your actual board or photos of it

Individual speaking characteristics (Graded individually)

Each individual will be critiqued on the following characteristics:

  1. Content - Each individual should contribute a significant and meaningful portion of the content.

  2. Time - Each individual should speak for an appropriate amount of time. For three people, this is around five minutes, for two people, this is seven or eight minutes.

  3. Visual Aides - You are expected to have quality visual aides to accompany your presentation. You do not have to use PowerPoint - you may use other techniques.

  4. Speaking - You should speak clearly and communicate effectively to the audience.
