Design Review 3.1

Home Schedule Policies Resources Design Notebooks

Purpose

In this design review, you will:

  1. Demonstrate all of your major functions working on your revised electrical and mechanical systems

  2. Show your complete mechanical enclosure, with all internal and external components fitting in/on it appropriately.

  3. Turn in a complete test plan and an up-to-date schedule.

Preparation

Revised system-based Functions

You must have all of the major functions for your project complete and working on your revised system, including a new PCB and parts as needed. The major functions do not have to be integrated together at this point, but all must be working. Please see the requirements for the final design review in winter quarter for the definition of a major function. It is, of course, acceptable to demonstrate all functions together if you have already integrated the components.

Mechanical Enclosure

The body of your mechanical enclosure must be complete. You must be able to fit all internal parts into the enclosure properly. All external components (switches, displays, LEDs, etc.) must be in place. Your system must be indistinguishable its mechanical look and feel from your final product.

Test Plan

Your team must have completed its test plan and turned it in by 11AM on the day of the review.

Documentation

Your team should have turned in the following documents by 11AM on the day of the review:

  1. Test Plan

  2. Schedule with up-to-date progress marked - email to instructor

All team members must be present at all design reviews. Students with unexcused absences from design reviews will receive a zero grade for the design review.
