Notebook section:  Schedule
Purpose: Plan out how your team will allocate its time and resources in order to finish the project on time.

Your team's schedule will describe every step of the process of designing and developing your product. Your schedule will be made using MS-Project. A sample schedule has been provided by the instructor to help you get started.

Original Schedule

Each quarter's schedule should be constructed in the following manner:

  1. Describe each task to be completed in the quarter.
  2. Break any tasks that are longer than one week into sub-tasks.
  3. Be sure to include tasks for items such as preparation for presentations, writing documents, etc.
  4. Include all due dates (design reviews, documents, presentations, etc.)
  5. For design tasks, allocate enough time to allow for debugging.
  6. Assign each task to one or more team members, making sure to balance each team member's load.
  7. A good schedule for one quarter will have at least 50 separate tasks/items

Once the original schedule is approved, it cannot be changed unless changes are formally approved by the instructor.

Updated Schedule

At each design review, an updated schedule will be due. The updated schedule will include marked up-to-date progress (click on a task bar and drag to draw a progress bar). No other changes can be made to the schedule without approval of the instructor.
